NAGPUR : Shri Pradip Kumar, the present Sr.DCM, Nagpur division of SECR has developed highly innovative means of making money without the risk of getting caught. For every transfer and posting, the staff has to meet the wife of Sr.DCM and pay a handsome amount in cash and kind. Starting from rice and vegetables and clothes every thing and any thing is demanded. The staff who failed to pay and please the Madam his trnafer to the most inconvenient place of the division. There are Dalals and Middleman from among the class IV staff who are employed as collection agents.
It is important to mention here that this person was transfered from the post of Sr. DCM/NGP and posted at Bilaspur HQ in 2006 as Dy. CCM on very grave and multipul complaints of irregularities, curruption and high handedness with staff and customers. But he managed to get back the same post within one and half years and did not even need to vacat his bengolow at Nagpur. This was possible as his wife arranged payment of Rs. 2 lakhs to the then CCM. This is a public knolwledge in Nagpur and Bilaspur. operandy to make money

The staff and customers having no other option take out their frustration by thoroughly beating up this gentlemen at almost regular intervals. Last time, one Mr. Rahi from Gondia got so agitated by the illegal demands of Shri Pradip Kumar that he stopped a Pilgrims special train at Tumsar Road station in March '09 and thrashed Shri Pradip Kumar in full public view for about two hours. At last Shri Pradip Kumar could escape the public only by breaking the toilet window of the VIP Room.
Recently he has shifted many staff out of vengience. One Mr. Pasha who is also a part time caterer has been transferred to Itawari station from Nagpur due to his failure to please Shri Kumar and his family. Again an ACM Shri D. Pal who was under investigation for molesting the lady staff throughout the division was saved by Shri Pradip Kumar after Shri D. Pal paid a handsome amount of 2 lakhs Rupees. The unions of the staff of Nagpur division have taken up this issue with the DRM and the General Manager and have widly condemned the cleanchit given by Shri Pradip Kumar to a branded womaniser like Mr. D. Pal who had reportedly molested and raped many lady employees of the commercial branch at Dongargh, Nainpur, Ranjanandgaon and many other stations.
Although hundres of complaints against this officer has piled up, the CCM/SECR Shri S. K. Agrawal is yet to take any action.
