WESTERN RAILWAY RUNS MUMBAI CENTRAL CAR PARKING STAND
DEPARTMENTALY, FETCHES RS.59,000/- IN 15 DAYS
Western Railway has earned about Rs.59,000/- in 15 days (from 15/6/09 to 29/6/09) from the Car Parking Stand at Mumbai Central by running it departmentally. The car parking stand is now being manned by the WR’s catering staff who are waiting for posting order after returning from IRCTC.
The contract for running the Mumbai Central Car Parking Stand was awarded to M/s Shagun Garments for the period of 3 years from 1/02/2009. But the award had to be terminated by the WR following several complaints of over charging by the contractor’s employees. The contractor also failed to display the rate list despite show cause notices and warnings in the interest of the passengers. When the passengers continued to complain of over charging, it was decided to terminate the contract from 11/02/09 and utilize the staff who were waiting for posting order to man the stand for the convenience of the passengers.
Now there is no complaint of overcharging and WR has earned a revenue of about Rs.59,000/- in 15 days. At present, four employees are being deployed in each shift.
CR TO EXTEND THE RUN OF CHENNAI-
SAINAGAR SHIRDI SPECIAL TRAINS
Central Railway will extend the run of Special Trains between Chennai Egmore and Sainagar Shirdi to clear the extra rush of passengers. The details are as under:
0677 Special will leave Chennai Central on every Tuesday at 15.15 hrs from 7.7.2009 to 29.9.2009 (13 trips) and arrive Sainagar Shirdi at 16.45 hrs next day.
0678 Special will leave Sainagar Shirdi on every Thursday at 08.00 hrs from 9.7.2009 to 1.10.2009 (13 trips) and arrive Chennai Central at 11.45 hrs next day.
There is no change in halts of this special train.
Composition: 10 Sleeper class, one AC-2 Tier, Two AC-3 Tier, 3 general second class and 2 general second class cum brake vans
RESERVATION: Bookings Open for 0678 from 8.7.2009.
