The appointments made by Shri Vivek Sahai, ex. GM/NCR & present GM/NR, through GM qouta is under vigilance scanner and the files have been seized on dated 19.11.09 as per CVC direction. In the presence of CVC people Railway board's Vigilance team has confiscated all these files. Sources say that these are the files of those people who are appointed by former GM/NCR Shri Vivek Sahai.
'Railway Samachar' through RTI has sought the records of GM qouta appointments for past five years. Accordingly it was revealed that about 650 appointments were made through GM qouta of which 99% candidates are from a particular State, ex MR's State, and of which 381 candidates appointed by Shri Vivek Sahai alone who projecting himself all time as very honest.
Minister for Railways has ordered enquiry on these appointments. Shri Ashok Gupta, ex GM/NWR, facing enquiry on GM's qouta appointments was also raided by CBI just after 11 days of his retiremment. After this MR ordered CBI enquiry into all these appointments.
Recommendation for next Member Staff (MT) includes Shri Vivek Saha's name but now due to this his appointment as MT is finaly doutful. News is also that he may be shifted from GM/NR post since MR is too unhappy with him.
