Gonda : At least eleven people were killed and several others were injured when a truck collided with a train at an unmanned railway crossing under Nawabganj police station area here today.
Superintendent of Police A Padmaja told UNI that most of the deceased were travelling in the Gorakhpur-Ayodhya passenger train when the accident occurred.
The SP said that the truck was overloaded with sand and collided with the train.
The train was overcrowded with passengers who were going to Ayodhya on the occasion of Kartik Purnima.
The injured were rushed to the hospital, Ms Padmaja said.
