LCD SCREEN IN EMU TRAINS
In its endeavour to provide upgraded suburban services, Western Railway, as a pilot project, have installed LCD flat screen television in EMU rakes.
As a pilot project, initially, the system is being set up in 5 twelve car EMU rakes. There will be 6 to 10 number of LCD screens per coach depending on the size of the coach. Each LCD is of 12” x 18” in size. It will give important civic messages in addition to advertisement and entertainment programme.
The project has been given to M/s Hype Integrated Communication Pvt.Ltd. for five years beginning with Rs.10 lakh per rake per annum with the 15 per cent escalation p.a. on compound basis.
