TZHPP has condemned brutal murder of English Daily Mid-Day's Investigative Editor Mr J. Dey
Alok Bhattacharya, President and Pyare Lal Pathak, General Secretary, Thane Zila Hindi Patrakar Parishad (TZHPP) has condemned brutal murder of English Daily Mid-Day's investigative editor Mr J. Dey. Shri Bhattacharya said that it is the total failure of state government and Mumbai police who have not provided police protection to crime and investigative journalists. He has demanded that journalists should be provided police protection without any charge by the state government, as it has been revealed that the police knew about threat to Mr J. Dey's life, There was a dispute over payment of protection made to Mr J. Dey to refuse to continue it, he said. Shri Bhattacharya also said that if police had offered protection free of charge considering his status and mission of exposing underworld, a crusaders precious life could have been saved. They have also demanded that the state government and mumbai police should take immediate and appropriate action to arrest the murderers of Mr Dey as this is their responsibility. They have also warned the state government that if no immediate action is taken against the murderers then all the journalists will march towards the Mantralaya under the banner of Thane Zila Hindi Patrakar Parishad.
