Railway Vigilance Protecting The Powerful Officers

The reader may kindly recall our earlier story regarding a private company namely, M/s. Balco Ltd., of Korba town in Chhatisgarh claiming and obtaining income tax rebate on the huge amount of bribe paid by them to the then Sr. DOM/BSP & his Sr. DCM and the current Sr. DOM. Unfortunately, no action in his regard was initiated by the useless vigilance branch of SEC Railway. This, in spite of the fact that an honest and upright officer is presently presiding over the Vigilance branch of Indian Railways, namely, Shri A. K. Moitro. This also proves that the Railway Vigilance like many other investigating agencies in this country serves the dual purpose of protecting the powerful (and well connected) officers while penalising the straightforward, honest & efficient persons. On the one hand, a simple employee suffers long years of prosecution & harassment for petty amounts and often for mistakes from bonafide actions, on the other well connected persons like then Sr. DOM/BSP became Sr. DOM of another important Division Moradabad of Northern Railway directly inspite of such a murky background. But, unfortunately for then Sr. DOM/BSP and the present Sr. DOM/MBD, this skeletons in his cupboard are tumbling out one after the other and the controversies surrounding him refuse to die. In the recent turn of events, his ex. Bunglow Peon has lodged a complaint with the railway police regarding misuse of passes by then Sr. DOM/BSP and the present Sr. DOM/MBD after total inefficiency and connivance shown by a vigilance branch. After preliminary investigation the railway magistrate has already issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against then Sr. DOM/BSP and the present Sr. DOM/MBD.
