Various measures and activities are being undertaken to curb trespassing, such as regular Public announcements at all stations, newspaper advertisements issued periodically and trespassing jingles played over the PA system and FM radio channels. Iron bar fencing has been put up between tracks at all suburban stations and walls have been erected along railway boundaries. Western Railway urges the public to value their lives and not cross tracks, but to use foot over bridges or subways provided.
WR SUBURBAN SERVICES AFFECTED DUE TO PUBLIC AGITATION

Western Railway services were today affected from 9.25 hrs due to the public agitation at Borivali station. Western Railway officers and senior police officials reached on the spot to pacify the crowd and the services were restored at 13.45 hrs. During the agitation Western Railway ran the services between Churchgate & Goregaon. Suryagari Express, Ranakpur Express & Kutch Express coming towards Mumbai were delayed where as Paschim Express and Vapi Passenger leaving Mumbai were delayed.
Due to theft of signal cable at Malad station, Western Railway services were running late by 15 to 20 minutes. Due to unavailability of rake, one 9.10 hrs local from Borivali was cancelled, which led to this agitation. Additional BEST bus services were run from Borivali. With the induction of new rakes Western Railway has increased services on its suburban network in a phased manner. From 1017 services in 2005-06, today we are running 1196 services, an increase of 179 services in four years. The increase in passengers on Western Railway mumbai suburban in last four years was 8.5 per cent where as carrying capacity has been increased by 21.5 per cent.
