Congress, NCP demand Railway exam papers in Marathi


"Write to the CM also asking for the exams to be held in Mumbai again"

Senior leaders from the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have demanded that the exam centre for the Railway recruitment Board exams be moved back to Mumbai from Lucknow. In a demanded that question papers be published in Marathi as well as in English and Hindi, in order to benefit the sons of the soil.
Mumbai Regional Congress Party (MRCP) Chief Kripashankar Singh and Thane NCP chief Jitendra Avhad, in a jointly-signed letter, have requested Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh to make efforts for the demands by taking up the issue with the Prime Minister.
Praising the state for accepting outsiders who chose to shift base to Maharashtra, the two said it was their duty to raise the issues for the sons of the soil for whom it is necessary to have papers in their native language Marathi, besides English and Hindi.
The Railways have shifted the exam centre from Mumbai to Lucknow citing inadequate security as the reason.
Taking on the Raj Thackeray led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, the duo said that the entire state should not be be held responsible for the acts of some political parties. "Maharashtra has always treated every state with equal affinity and love," concluded the two with a request to convey their feelings to the PM. The joint letter was drafted soon after a function by the MRCC at Bandra-Kurla Complex, where the CM was felicitated for completing four years in office.
