Electric lights go dark when MoSR visit

Dear Friends;

This news was not reported sincerely in the newspapers but some local news channels aired it.

When MoSR Sr. E. Ahmed visited ERS on 11 August, it was drama all around.

His special train arrived at around 7 pm. There were many people, representing various associations and federations waiting to submit memorandums to Sri. Ahmed. But none of them were allowed near the minister. A group of Muslim League activists immediately surrounded him, shouting slogans, blocking any others from getting near.

And to make matters worse, the electricity suddenly failed and there was pitch darkness all around. Minister had to be guided with the help of a torch! Organizers ran everywhere to restart the lights but there was no generator connection to the platform in which Mosr had arrived! There are varying versions on the pwer cut. Some say it was done deliberately by the CPM controlled unions. Finally, after many anxious minutes, they managed to restore power.

Minister was at his jovial best and took note of these. Maybe this pandemonium prompted him to announce a 10 cr package to the station. The station will be rebuilt to international standards, the existing platform at eastern entry will be made operational. 5 long distance trains will now pass through ERS instead of ERN.

The KSRTC bus stand stands on railway land, leased to KSRTC. KSRTC will shift the bus stand from this place soon. The land will be utilised to build more platforms. Once this is operational, Trains skipping ERS need not skip it.

A road connecting ERS and ERN will be built.
